Debate

Debate

Debate challenges students in grades 7 – 12 to use their critical thinking skills to support or oppose a given topic in a formally structured setting. Students research socially and politically relevant issues, prepare sound arguments for and against a given topic, and debate those positions against an opposing team, while trying to persuade a judge or panel of judges to vote for their side.
