SCPA – Coming into this season, the Lions Boys Soccer Team had set high goals for their season. One of those goals was to win the school’s first MCAA Conference Championship.
On Friday night, September 29th, the club achieved that lofty goal by defeating Maranatha Academy 7-0. This win combined with Southwest Christian being tied by New Life Academy gave the Lions the conference championship.
The boys finished conference play 7-0-1 and are currently 12-2-1 on the season with their only loses coming to Mahtomedi and Hastings very early this season.
The team is led by seniors Noah Senn (mid-fielder) and Frank Bancroft-Howard (defender). In addition, juniors Brandt Belisle and Mitchell Miesen have added offensive punch to this year’s club.
Section play will start for the Lions Boys team on Saturday, October 14th. A complete schedule for the section tournament will be published on Monday, October 9th.
The boys team will conclude their regular season when they host St. Agnes at Lucy Winton Bell Athletic Complex on Saturday, October 7th at 3:00 pm.
